What can you do to use Social Networks like Facebook in a safe environment?
As we all use Facebook or other big social networks to share our life with friends or people we met yesterday, we are facing a big dilemma: is there any way that you can wrap your personal data with a firewall and still use it on Facebook? Safe?
Everybody knows Facebook is using your personal data in a way or another.
Now you have the chance to be in control of your personal details like: address, phones, religion, birthdate, classes you attend, places you eat or shop etc.

What is the first step?
That’s really simple.
You sign up on MySchnipps app, creating a Schnipps ID.
Then you start editing your personal data: name, address, phone, email etc.
Or even more personal stuff like: religion, credit card, sexual preferences, food alergies… This is also personal data.
Second step?
Add contacts to your Schnipps account. Don’t worry, you can import them from Facebook, Google, your phone’s addressbook etc.
We know you don’t want to waste time doing it, so we’re taking care of this.
You can even invite them to join Schnipps - automatically too. And once they sign up, they’ll have your shared details already in they contact list. As their first Schnipps contact

Now you can share or delete personal data. You can chose what data you share with Max; you can even request that a specific field, like: birthdate should not be displayed in Max Schnipps account.
So you have the power to do whatever you want. It’s your private data.
The Facebook step
So, the first step in taking care of your “personal data” is to delete them from Facebook. Empty your profile data and use as an alternative just the link to your Schnipps ID profile. And you can do that with all the Social Networks. That way you control your data in all networks from one central point.
We’ll take care in the near future that Facebook(for example) automatically displays there just the data you share from Schnipps, via an API.
How is that safer?
Well, Schnipps has built in safety features. We guarantee that only the user sees his data. We never see your personal data.
How? Simple – we take care no one ever sees your data:
- all data you enter is encrypted on the client side – your smartphone – via a complicated algorithm
- encrypted data is sent to Schnipps servers for storage
- when you give access to a person, the encrypted data is sent from the server to that user
- on the user’s smartphone, your shared data is decrypted, via a complicated algorithm – allowing him to see it.
So no one is able to see your data unless you give specific permissions.
